Mushroom industry contributes to recycling waste materials

Over the years, Aihui District constantly enhances the support on mushroom industry, by political bias and financial support, growers’ enthusiasm has been effectively stimulated while large-scale development has been obtained.

Through 18 years of hard work, scale of Dabing Mushroom Factory has been expanded from 600 square meters to over 22,000 square meters, Oyster, Nameko, King oyster, Monkey head and other 10 varieties have been developed. In 2017, the factory outputted 600 tons of fresh mushrooms and 50 tons of dried mushrooms, products were not only sold well to Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and other characteristic provinces in China, but also were exploited to Russian market.

In Dabing Mushroom Factory, main raw materials used for mushroom cultivation are straws, corncobs and other agricultural wastes, which realizes recycling waste materials, brings about benefits for growers while eliminating environmental pollution.

“Within the factory, recycling price of corncob is at 30-40 CNY per cubic metre, and recycling price on corn and straw reaches 300 CNY per ton,” introduces owner of Dabing Mushroom Factory warmly, adding that last year, he purchased straws that cover 22,500 mu of land, by the end of 2018, crop straws that occupy 30,000 mu of land are in expected purchase.
