Pleurotus geesteranus farming provides weapon for poverty removal

On January 11, peak picking time of Pleurotus geesteranus has just come to a conclusion in Lvxian Mushroom Base located in Manghaizhou Village, Tuojiang Town, Hunan Province of China.

“In our base, daily fruiting volume came to 1500 kg in 8 temperature-controlled sheds during the peak picking season, monthly sales reached nearly 500,000 CNY,” said principal of Lvxian Mushroom Base with enthusiasm. “The base holds the gross investment of 50 million CNY, by February of 2019, over 40 mushroom factories are in planned operation while 2 production lines and 1 food safety test line will be built, the expected daily fruiting volume comes to 10 tons, annual output on mushroom nutrient bags attains 3 million bags, annual output value hits 20 million CNY while over 300 poor population are expected to get stable jobs through mushroom farming.”
